The price went from $13 to $71 and is now back to $20. Compared to the 2014 CH Brookman Merlot the 2012 is lighter-bodied with lower tannin and therefore capable of pop-and-pour, whereas the 2014 really needs 8+ hr of breathing to be at its best. That said, the 2012 is still better with food than alone. My provision of both vintages to experienced tasters have elicited consistently positive comments. I bought 2 bottles of 2012 just to try and thought they were great, Ordered another 12. Cork was fine and the wine had no damage, Here is hoping that the newly ordered 2012 would be fine.
Interesting you you say 2012 is lighter bodied as I found it quite full on, Would def try to get 2014 if it ever goes underwraps to compare. Overall a great drop.

Thanks Mary. I got some 2004 CH Brookmans and the corks were rubbish – wine almost up to the top. But the wine was fine! Better than fine.
